Onlyfans is a subscription service, where fans may pay a monthly fee to see your private photos and videos. It’s a great site if you are busy, but still want to make some profit on the side and pays out 80%, making it one of the better-paying adult sites. In this chapter, I will explore how to get started on Onlyfans, features that can help you make extra money on the site and great ways to earn fans.

Signing up to Onlyfans

Like all adult sites, you need some ID to sign up with. Remember to use the same username you’re using across all your social media so your fans can find you easier. Once you’re approved (which may take a couple of days), you can start adding content to your Onlyfans. Add your profile picture and headers, but make sure they don’t include any nudity. Now you can set your monthly subscription price. Most girls stay around the $14.99 mark, but you are free to choose whatever price you feel is fair. Just remember that more people will be able to afford a cheaper subscription, but if you’re new and don’t have the fan base yet, 2-4 subs paying $14.99 each, will pay better than 6-8 paying $3. Quality over quantity.

Now you can start uploading actual content. I personally mainly use Onlyfans to post my old Snapchat content, so I don’t even need to make much new content for subs. However, I understand not everyone will have this backlog of content, so you need to start thinking about what kind of stuff you want to post. Keep off simple, with topless or open leg shots that you can easily censor to tease fans on your social media with. Masturbation, behind the scenes, boy/girl and twerking videos usually work best for me, but every sex worker has a different fan base who want to see different content, so experiment while you can. Once you have a larger fan base, clients will expect certain content from you, so you might not be able to branch out well afterwards. Now, while you can just post content straight away, there are lots of features Onlyfans offer, which may help increase your income.

You can play around with the different features Onlyfans offer and decide which works best for you. Personally, the queue feature completely changed my Onlyfans experience, as you can make sure your content is posted every single day. This will make fans want to check your page often, to see your new content. It will also make you pop up every day in their feed, so they are drawn to your page and reminded of your content. Finally, if you have connected twitter, it will send an auto-tweet to your followers with the text from your post, teasing them about the content you post, and may even persuade them to join.

There are other features along the post-bar which can be used well, such as adding an expiration period on your post. Now I don’t use this feature as I like being able to tell fans I have over 3000 photos on my page, but it can be used anyway to make fans feel as if they have to subscribe urgently. For example, adding an image for 7 days may make fans subscribe so they don’t miss it. It also means you can keep your subscription price low, as many people don’t want to offer 3000+ for only $9.99, but each to their own.

Finally, on the post-bar, there is the poll option. This is an amazing way to connect with your fans and find out the type of content they are wanting to see your post. This is also better than twitter polls, as you can add way more options, and you know the people who answer are going to be paying customers

Making extra money on the site

Now, it’s time to start utilising your messages and the tip feature. Any fan can message you on Onlyfans and you can send mass messages to all your fans at once. You can use this to promote your sales across other platforms, but you can also use this to send ‘paid messages’. This means you can send a full-length video with a set price and your fans will have to pay extra to see it. This is an amazing way to generate extra income, but don’t use it too much as it may annoy your fans. You can also send extra naughty censored images and charge to have them uncovered. You can see how much each message makes by clicking the graph button in the top right of your messages.

Create a tip list full of content your fan can purchase. You don’t have to be out of the box for this and can simply offer services you already offer on other sites. However, as Onlyfans pays 80% you can usually charge a little less as a way to entice fans. You can also pin your tip list to the top of your profile, so fans see it as soon as they join. If you’re struggling to gain fans, maybe try offering a sale. The discount setting on Onlyfans is super easy to use and versatile as you can decide how many fans get the offer and how long the offer is on for. Make use of the feature as often as you want, but please keep in mind that fans who pay more for membership are more likely to spend money on tipping and messages, in my experience. Again, it’s all about quality over quantity.

Finally, you can use your referral link to get other models to sign up. When you do this, you can a lifetime 5% cut of anything they make. This can be crazy if you can get a few girls to sign up and they do well. It’s very hard to do and I’ve only had two girls sign up in my two years of being on the site, but it’s always worth a try. You usually need a decent following anyway to persuade girls to sign up, but you might as well share your link and see if anyone joins. How to gain more fans
