The Name Game

While it may not seem like a big deal when starting sex work, taking time to choose your name is vital. You can always change your name down the line, but this will cause confusion with loyal customers and may make you lose fans.

Choosing your name

Your name should be unique and stand out from the crowd. There are already hundreds of girls out there in sex work called ‘Angel’, ‘Baby’, ‘Kitten’ or something similar, so try to stray away from that. Your first name is the most important as it’ll be what most people call you for short, but make sure to pick a last name as well. This will make it easier for you to stand out when you finally start gaining traction and recognition. Try to take inspiration from something you are passionate about, whether that’s a video game, a book or even a Greek goddess (cough cough).

Checking your name

Once you think you’ve decided your name, it’s time to GOOGLE IT. This is extremely important, as you don’t want to pick a name just to find out there’s a d-list celebrity who already has their own Wikipedia page that you’ll never be able to overtake. A good way to get around this is to just change the spelling of your name, but don’t make it too outlandish or you’ll start to look like a white soccer mom.

Branding your name

Now you have finally picked your sex worker name (go you!), it’s time to brand the fuck out of it. This means putting it EVERYWHERE. Try to include it in your social media @s, your cam/clip site usernames and, if you choose to use the site, your Pornhub video titles. Once you start to gain traction, you’ll start to be recognised for your name, so it’s important it’s clear who you are. When your pictures are posted across the whole internet, it makes it easier for people to name/source who’s in the image if everyone knows you by a single name. I learnt this the hard way by having FOUR different usernames when I first started. Keep it simple and sell your name.
